Sophie Bonnecarrère, Public Policy Manager at Uber, is looking forward to Automotive Week 2023. “I can’t wait to exchange views and ideas with professionals from different backgrounds. I am sure that, like me, they believe that an urban mobility revolution is on its way, but that significant collective and individual efforts are still required.’

Sophie Bonnecarrère works for Uber. ‘The mission of our organization is to create a world where movement is accessible to everything and everyone. Whether it concerns people, food or products. We started in 2010 by solving a simple problem: how do you access a ride that gets you from A to B with the touch of a button? We are now more than 30 billion journeys further, but we still work with thousands of professionals every day to bring people closer to their destination.’

Mobility revolution

That Uber is participating in Automotive Week 2023 is only logical for Bonnecarrère. “The theme of the week: ‘Smart, Safe and Sustainable’, fits perfectly with the mission of our organization. We have developed innovative technologies to provide passengers around the world with various shared, safe and sustainable mobility options, so that the use of private vehicles is reduced in inner cities. We have gained a lot of international experience that we are happy to use to help enable the urban mobility revolution.’

Systemic change

During a deep-dive session during the Automotive Week, Bonnecarrère zooms in on the theme

‘Innovative Solutions on Urban Mobility Challenges’. ‘I see this session as a great opportunity to talk about how existing, disruptive technologies are leading to systemic change in the way people move around. And also to exchange ideas on what is still needed for the revolution towards shared, sustainable mobility to take place.’

Call

Bonnecarrère can’t wait to share her ideas and convey her views to the attendees of the Automotive Week. ‘These professionals have diverse backgrounds and I am sure that, like me, they believe that an urban mobility revolution is coming, but that significant collective and individual efforts are still required in terms of technology and policy. It is up to us to make it possible. So let’s start talking about it together during Automotive Week 2023. Bonnecarrère would therefore like to call on professionals from the automotive sector to come to Automotive Week. ‘Everyone can contribute to the future of mobility. So: join us and share your opinion!’
